iMPACT! 9/22/11

9-22-11 Impact Review:

1.) Sting-Hogan talk segment where they are dressed identical. Decent because it's kept semi-brief and Hogan didn't do much of the talking. Although I think TNA needs to stop putting there main focus on Sting and Hogan. I dont think I've ever seen a good Hogan/Sting match. Plus, how old is Hogan now? I mean, come on, push the younger talent that you have.

2.) Mickie plants Tessmacher with a jumping DDT to get the win. While I agree with the Knockouts being fun to watch...I miss the knockouts that could actually wrestle and put on a match!

What happened to the women that could actually WRESTLE!? The jumping DDT was actually done pretty well but Ms.Tessmacher landed a bit wrong.

3.) Jesse Neal's girlfriend Indy worker Christina von Eerie who got a hit in during the Tattoo Parloe Brawl.

4.) James Storm shows up both Roode AND Angle on the mic in an in-ring segment.

5.) RVD in the beginning of iMPACT! was shown lying on the floor beaten up, obviously Bully and Lynn did it. It then became a two-on-one match, Bully and Lynn vs Mr. Anderson. Bubba/Lynn still needs a chain to beat Anderson, even though it's still a handicap match. Really guys? Bully Ray aka Bubba Ray aka etc etc is horrible. He's only good when he's tagging with Devon. He sucks at singles competition. I was never a big fan of Mr. Anderson aka Mr. Kennedy while he was in the WWE or here but he is pretty amusing. His style is still to WWE for me.

6.) Good brawl between Styles and Daniels. (although if I heard one more Bro between Frankie and AJ I was gonna throw something at the tv)

7.) Very good Storm-Angle match. The ending was kind of weak but I thought overall it was a good match. Atleast it wasn't as bad as last week's.

But I'm just glad Jeff Hardy is back! =]

''The Hardy Boyz'' by Julian Berrios and Alexis Buono

Matt and Jeff Hardy, the Hardy Boyz, Team Extreme. Say those names to any wrestling fan ten years ago and you were likely to hear praise and undying love for both men. Those names today  are synonymous with prison, weight-related, and drug-related jokes. It's unfortunate how things can change in only a matter of ten years. How  these two men came to be in the wrestling business is an inspiring story, one filled with hard work, dedication, and an overwhelming desire to live up to their dream.

They grew up as lifelong wrestling fans in North Carolina determined to one day make something of themselves in the professional wrestling business. Having that dream in their head they also had to go through the traumatic  loss of their mother at a very young age but they overcame that but sticking with their dream and never giving up. Matt and Jeff started off wrestling on a trampoline in their backyard, calling it the TWF, the Trampoline Wrestling Federation, which looking back must be a very humbling memory.

The TWF then became known as OMEGA, the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts. The company was established in 1997 and through OMEGA they honed their craft and developed the attributes necessary to become true wrestling stars. They eventually got the attention of the WWF, now WWE, and started out as enhancement talent, or "jobbers", as more commonly known among wrestling fans. Then in 1999, a boom in the WWE's tag team division elevated their place on the roster thanks to the series of matches against the tag team of Edge & Christian , culminating in the historic tag team ladder match at No Mercy 1999. They finally made it to the top of that ladder in the wrestling business.

Unfortunately, as we have seen many times in the wrestling business, with fame and stardom comes the relentless,  self-destructive, and harsh world of drugs and addiction, which most notably you see with the younger Hardy brother, Jeff. The bigger and brighter his star shined, when the company decided to push him more, is when those dark times came knocking on Jeff's door. Jeff became an addict and his own worst enemy, his addiction to pills as well as many other drugs, tearing down the rapport that the brothers once build in the company and to their fan base. In 2003 Jeff Hardy refused WWE's offer to go into the company sponsored rehab and was released from his contract shortly after.

He did eventually return to the WWE in 2006 after a one year run with TNA Wrestling, but not much had changed since last time he had been in a WWE locker room. Within just that first year since his return he was given a thirty day suspension on his first violation of the WWE's newly implemented Wellness Policy and was given a second sixty day suspension seven months later, putting him only one strike away from immediate termination. Even with all of those odds against him, the WWE still had enough faith in Jeff to award him the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships on 3 occasions between 2008 and 2009. His star was shining bigger and brighter than ever, he was getting the push he always wanted, and was on top of the wrestling world where no one could touch him. Unfortunately in August of 2009 he decided to take a break from wrestling and parted ways with the WWE once again. Less than a month later he was arrested on charges of drug possession, drug trafficking, drug paraphernalia, etc. On September 8th he plead guilty and was sentenced to 10 days jail time, $100,000 fine, and 30 months probation.

After all of the up's and down's and hardships that has fallen on Jeff Hardy's shoulders he is still one of the wrestling companies biggest names and a huge draw. He's cleaning up his act and returning to TNA Wrestling in September of 2011. Let's see where this road shall take him where he can one day climb that ladder of the wrestling business and make it to the top again.

Matt Hardy on the other hand was thought of as the more business savvy and mature of the two brothers.  He was even thought of by many fans as the better wrestler all around, gaining a worldwide cult following in 2005 after reports that real life girlfriend Amy Dumas, better known to fans as Lita, had cheated on Matt with close friend and fellow WWE Superstar Edge and was also released by the WWE once the story went public. That was until just one or two years ago because of the vast and unforgiving world of online social networking. It is no secret that Matt loves posting on his Twitter and YouTube accounts, and at first things looked pretty normal coming from "MATTHARDYBRAND", and then came the summer of 2010.

There had been several stories reported on many "dirt sheet" wrestling websites that Matt had been intentionally trying to get himself fired by WWE, citing personal and professional frustration as his reasons for doing so. However, he denied these claims and accused these sites of being "out to get him." Despite his constant denial, more stories would be reported of behavior problems and unprofessional conduct, one instance resulting in him being sent home from the company's annual European tour. He was finally released from his contract in late September/early October of 2010.

Once his release was officially announced, he finally admitted that he indeed was intentionally trying to get himself fired. He criticized many of the WWE's creative decisions from throughout 2009 and 2010 including his storyline rivalry with his brother Jeff and his more recent feud with newcomer at the time, Drew McIntyre, claiming they were not booked or handled properly.

After his release from the WWE he quickly jumped ship and went to TNA Wrestling with brother Jeff.  On January 9th, 2011 Hardy made his debut  at the Genesis pay-per-view coming in as a heel for the stable Immortal. Many fans were skeptical of this move because of his poor performance towards the end of his WWE days. On June 20th,  Matt announced that he was taking a few weeks off from TNA but  following day  it was reported that the promotion had suspended Hardy for his repeated lateness. On August 20th, Matt was released from TNA Wrestling following a DWI arrest that happened earlier that same day. Matt Hardy announced his retirement from full time wrestling due to injuries on September 1.

It's unfortunate to see these two brothers, who are so talented, fall they way they did. There is always a chance though to get back on their feet and redeem themselves and get back to the wrestlers we fell in love with. Climbing of the ladder of success is not an easy one in the wrestling business but once you get to the top it's worth it but sometimes the wrong things catch up to people and some just have a bud turn of events. With age comes wisdom and both brothers will follow through with the paths that they both set out for themselves, every road is bumpy but it's how you deal with it that truly makes you the person you are.  We look forward to the return of both Matt and Jeff Hardy and hope that in doing so will bring them even more success than both brothers could have dreamed of.

State of Down4theCount Address

Posted by The Straight Edge Jedi on July 29, 2011 at 6:32 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello everyone. Julian "The Straight Edge Jedi" here with a quick update on the current status of Down4theCount.

It has been several months since any real posts have been made on here. Part of that is due to my not having enough time to devote to the site. My job takes up a lot of my time and a lot of my energy to the point of where I am just too exhausted to work on here like I did before; the same goes for my partner Alexis (LoveMeOrLie13).

The part is, while I am still very much involved with the wrestling business, I have not felt motivated enough to do anything on this site other than uploading new photos to the championship photo albums. But with the recent and very much talked about storyline involving CM Punk, I am now back and I am determined to do my absolute best work possible on here. But that will have to wait until I return from my vacation in 2 weeks.

I have neglected this site for far too long and I had promised that I wouldn't do that; I hate breaking promises. What I will promose to you all is that I will try to stay as active as I possibly can. I know this place isn't much, but it is my creation and I want to make it the best wrestling site it can possibly be and I want you all to help me make that happen. Post comments on blogs, give us suggestions on how to improve the site, join in on the chat located on the right hand side of the screen, share the link to the site with friends, etc.

Thank you for your support. I know not a lot of people come onto here, but the few that do I thank you very much. I will not let you down.

Impact....Wrestling.

Ok so we all know how Foley came out last week and said..."Wrestling matters here" and that Impact is to be called Impact Wrestling.

Well I'd like to see how long this lasts. In my opinion once Hogan and Bischoff entered TNA they havent done a damn thing for TNA. About the same amount of people watch it, their ratings have just stayed between the low 1's to maybe 2's if they're lucky.

I dont know whats become of TNA but you barely have any original TNA guys there anymore. It's a shame. And the originals that actually are LOYAL and did stay have shitty ass storylines. I mean you dont even see Samoa Joe anymore. He was one of their biggest stars and now you knocked him down to this!?

I dont know TNA, but you need to step up your game and FAST or else you will be losing alot of fans.

Has anyone ever heard of actual good wrestling?

Its' Steamboat vs Flair late 80s - early 90's.

Its HBK vs Hart Iron Man Match.

HBK vs Taker -any match. etc.

Not Cena vs The Miz....I mean the Hogan vs Warrior match was a million times better then that WM match and the Ultimate Warrior couldn't even wrestle.

Well, well, well.

He did better then I though he was going to do! I mean he just needs to move his hips more and incorporate himself more into the dance but other then that I was pretty impressed with his performance!

Anyone else think so?

TNA 3-17-11

Posted by LoveMeOrLie13 on March 17, 2011 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (1)

So its 9:21pm and stil they are talking in the ring.

The best they could get to bring in to Immortal is Brother Ray aka The Bully. Do they not realize that he cannot make it in singles competition.

He tried once before and he was alright I guess but never a main-eventer. But the Dudley Boyz are the most overrated tagteam in history I believe anyway. I mean cmon you got The Hart Foundtain, the British Bulldogs, the Steiner Brother's, The Road Warriors, etc.

And to have to bring back Sting for ratings and make him the world champion is just ridiculous if you ask me.. I mean c'mon Sting is 54 years old already. He's great but to have him be champion is kinda sad.

Oh and what happened to the Knockouts. Im sitting here watching idiotic Madison Rayne who cant wrestle...talk and talk against Mickie James who really isnt that much of a prize either and now we will see for the 98765432345678987654345678 time another Hair Match Madison Rayne vs Mickie James.

What the hell happened to the original TNA?! Where's Samoa Joe...they dont use him at all anymore...I mean him against the Pope is really not using him. Now I have to watch fucking stupid ass Pope having a "healing ritual" in the ring right now...with a supposedly blind man, a crippled man, and a large women who you could even fucking tell that she's wearing a body suit to make her look heavy...this is pretty pathetic. Joe needs to take care of the Pope once and for all.

Bring back:

 Christoper Daniels

Petey Williams

But mostly all the X-Division guys that they got rid of.

They should also bring back the 6-sided ring. It brought a unique quality to TNA and now with the 4-sided ring...its just boring with it's normalcy.
